Although most of you who are reading this probably know me, I will take this space to tell you a little bit more about me and to expand on who I am for those that don’t.

 

My name is Brian I have started this Blog/Webpage to help inform people on my conditions:  For those that don’t know I have been Diagnosed with a very rare form of Cancer at a much to young of age (at least that in my opinion 😉), I have developed an Neuroendocrine Tumor on my Pancreas which has metastasized to my Liver. The Cancer is very rare, and we are figuring it out as we go. Diagnosis was made late in 2021 and we have been fighting since then.   I have been a geoscientist for the past 25 + years have a strong passion for the outdoors, exercising, animation, have very strong passion for fermented beverages, the work I do for my job, travel and music.  If you have not seen it I have started a radio: www.Djb23radio.com  there is a whole webpage dedicated to the radio station.  Please visit it and pass it on to people you know.

 

I have a wonderful family and immediate family members who are working through this diagnosis with me.  I have had a passion for brewing since the early 90’s and have been part of the birth of the microbrewery scene since it inception, I have worked as a profession brewer on an off for many year at various breweries. Now I work as a Remote Sensing Scientist. I have been lucky to travel the world and have visited nearly every continent there are one or two I am still missing. Visited over 20 countries and had the pleasure to work with some amazing people for various countries. 

 

I am typically very active but since the diagnosis I have been much more sedentary as we have tried to get thing under control, these days we have gotten a few of the side effect under control which has allowed me to be more active again. I live by rule life is too short to not enjoy good food and drink, I thoroughly enjoy a good coffee especially espressos.  I have worked on boat and use to spend most of time in the field working to find Gold for various companies. I love my field work it is a huge part of me.

 

In short, I have lived a wonderful life and feel very blessed for all the enjoyment life has brought me, this diagnosis has brought much reflection to my life In general I have an upbeat demeaner and love to share that with people. Now living in Colorado again, If I had one wish it would be to hike a 14k mountain with my girls I am fighting every day to try to make that a reality.
